February 24, 2016 - This is my style of rose. Not too fruity or sweet, no bubble gum, and not too round or soft. More savory in style with saline, mineral and lots of acid. Hard to get my head around the fruit but I thought it was more shades of orange and peach than berries but Ann said strawberry. Very good and a repurchase for sure.

2/25/16, 7:50 AM - Uh Oh - not too happy about this. Looks like I might have future purchasing competition!

By any chance did you pick up the Nuances bottling to try? I like that even better, although both a very good.

2/25/16, 9:19 AM - Bob, I didn't pick up any of the Nuances bottling but I will have to try one of them too. I am looking forward to opening one of these side by side with Boulay and Montenidoli, when it arrives. Thanks for the recommendation.

2/25/16, 9:50 AM - I liked this better than the '14 Boulay - for lack of a better word, the Boulay strikes me on the palate as too ephemeral or fleeting. I get more "substance" from the Pibarnon. That said, I'm glad I have the Boulay in the cellar.

I also ordered the Montenidoli to try, based strictly on the "Vaughn purchasing recommendation", a very reliable source!

2/25/16, 10:46 AM - Based on last night's bottle and what I remember about the last Boulay I had, I agree with you. The Pibarnon seemed to have more texture that I think lengthened the finish and gave it more substance. It struck me as being similar to the Montenidoli from memory. I am out of that one but have a case coming. Looking forward to seeing how they compare and what your thoughts are on it.
