Community Tasting Note

March 10, 2016 - This was odd and disappointing. At first opening it tasted beautiful. Double decanted. Then four hours later shared as part of the Seattle group's first/second tasting. It seemed a bit thin and disjointed -- not nearly as complex as the last bottle I had. The bottle did not seem to be flawed (though some thought it might be). May just be bottle variation, or a evolving phase, or it is not going to be there for the long haul and the double decanting accelerated that. Will try again this evening and see how it is holding up.

3/10/16, 11:22 PM - This is a bit concerning. The last time I had this it was fantastic. I may pull a bottle and try. Thanks.

3/11/16, 11:48 AM - This may have been because my palate was pretty tired after a lot of tasting -- others seemed to like it a lot. And I have loved it previously. So perhaps combination of palate fatigue and a weaker bottle? It does not lead me to give my others away. :-)

3/11/16, 3:52 PM - You know, it amazes me how wines taste differently at different times. There is always bottle variation but sometimes even good wines taste funky and crappy wines taste pleasant to me. It intrigues me to no end. I have a couple left and might need to pop one to make sure it is alright;)
