April 19, 2016 - HdR Lunch #2 (Hospices du Rhone): This was a ripe hot mess and that is something I rarely say about a wine. It burned. Not sure if this was a proper bottle but everyone at the table seemed to taste spit and dump quickly.

5/17/16, 6:15 AM - Hello, are you sure it was MCV Black? MCV does not attend HdR nor does Black contain any Rhone varietals. If it was indeed Black, then it sounds like you had a problem bottle which was most likely stored improperly.

5/19/16, 8:17 AM - Not sure where it came from. They do count Petite Sirah as a Rhone varietal. It was served or brought by someone to the lunch. Glad to hear it was an off bottle, I will have to search out a proper bottle and retry it.

5/21/16, 6:24 PM - You are certainly welcome to come by our tasting room anytime to try it. That wine is not readily available outside of directly from us as I do not wholesale it. If you do decide to pay us a visit, please let me know ahead of time, so I can make sure I'm there to answer any questions.

5/30/16, 7:43 AM - MCV Black has a taste and quality of 90+ point wines that we have tasted. You may want to give the MCV Black another try at their tasting room. We tasted the MCV Black the first time we visited their tasting room and it was the primary reason we immediately joined their wine club. It sounds like the bottle brought to your luncheon was improperly stored or transported.
