April 28, 2016 - I have been dying to try this wine, ever since reading about in an article about Umbria in Saveur magazine. I was hoping this wasn't too young to try. On its own, without food, its a tannic nightmare, sucking all the saliva from your mouth. But with food, and I had this at a small (I counted only 17 seats) local Italian place and ordered a ribbon pasta alla bolognese, it was beautiful. A very long finish. It was almost California Zin-like (Martinelli Jackass?) in the nose, but it tastes nothing like a Zin.
