May 16, 2016 - While interesting and enjoyable to drink, this highly polished wine ultimately presents little in the way of terrior or typicity and ultimately comes across as a highly stylised, fairly generic wine firmly rooted within the modernist/internationalist style. The wine is too dark, too oaky, and too inky to convey any impression of honest sangiovese. If this wine were from Bordeaux, I could easily be much more enthusiastic about it. It would make a balanced, well-made, elegant Bordeaux, yet as Brunello it's ultimately unsuccessful. If you're looking for a well-made, well-priced, generic tasting wine, then look no further.
