Community Tasting Note

  • Zweder wrote: 91 points

May 28, 2016 - In the bouquet dark forest fruits and luxurious oak. On the palate red fruits, vanilla, firm acidity and fairly light, but a bit unripe tannin. Not really sure what to think; the high acidity in combination with a fairly lean body in this stage, but also luxurious elements. I would like to taste this again around 2022 to see how this wine has developed. I hope for the better. For tonight 90 – 91+?

6/3/16, 12:14 AM - Thanks for your note and rating. Howdy, Zweder! We have yet to pop open a bottle of our 2006 thinking perhaps a trespass on adolescence ;-). We say thanks for the heads-up as we were targeting circa 2020 to try our first of 12. By the way, the 2001s are sipping exceedingly well now!

11/17/18, 5:12 AM - I had also noticed the high acidity but it delivered freshness to the wine. The tannins were still on the young side. But it is a well balanced wine and we agree on the score ;)
