  December 31, 2007 - Double decanted approx. 2 hrs. prior to consumption. This wine is hitting on all cylinders. The nose is highly perfumed - just leaps out of the glass with notes of plums, chocolate, baking spices, etc. Everything is perfectly balanced on the palate, with lots of still powerful fruit, ripe tannins, and just the right amount of acidity, yet it has taken on a certain elegance at this point as well. While the nose and finish are excellent, the finish is even better, as it just goes on and on - a perfect mixture of power and finesse. I love where this wine is right now - not in any danger of fading, but how can it be much better?
