Delectable Blue Does not like this wine: 75 points
June 5, 2016 - I have never had a Wolf Blass red that I really enjoyed, so I’ve been avoiding them for the last 20 years. I was hoping the Gray Label would change my mind. Alas, it’s not to be. The flavours taste very one-dimensional for me. The fruit tastes sharp and unappealing, the wine lacking any significant complexity, and the flavour balance tastes downright wrong to me. I really don’t get it. To me this is no better than a $10 VinoMofo Glenlofty shiraz. No where near as good actually. Down the sink I think!

There really are not many wines that I have a strong dislike of. It’s probably just a single chemical in the wine that I’m particularly sensitive to that makes it unpalatable to me. There is one other wine from the same region that I have the same response to, so it may be something in the terroir.
I don’t deny that others enjoy the wine, and I’m glad that they do. Thankfully we all have different taste profiles, otherwise the world would be a very dull and boring place. I’m sorry if you took offense to my post.

My comments were raised by the low score given to such a regularly high scoring wine. I can't say that I've ever seen any wine critic rate this one this low.
Your comment definitely does not offend.
