June 26, 2016 - Wonderfully weighted and balanced, with bright acid and sweet cherry cola fruit all in check. This vintage sees 20% new french oak which lends a hint of vanilla bean and some extra structure which is nice. Fantastic QPR as usual, and it may be a hair short on the finish—but I ain’t complaining. At just around $20 it’s rare to find a Pinot Noir this enjoyable and well made year after year.
Side note: Banshee does make lighter, fresher wines; but if you’re considering old world and new, having tasted this next to a Fleurie beaujolais, not surprisingly the Banshee showed clearly very new world in style.1,940 views
