July 11, 2016 - Delicious maturing Bordeaux drinking most excellently right now, but safe to hold longer, I think. Under $20 and an incredible steal. Here are the notes from RIMMERMAN at Garagiste: "
Chateau Le Meynieu is known to you but hardly by others despite their (actual) location not a stone’s throw from Lafite or St. Estephe but darn close. The key is the upheaval and subtle upslope of their property – it drains in a superb fashion with more rock than clay – more galet than the norm (which is not always the case in this part of the Haut-Medoc).
As my esteemed Bordeaux colleague uttered after dancing with the 2004 Le Meynieu for several hours: “such a delicate bouquet - remarkable finesse, a great journey that has been lost in the Medoc since the mid-1980’s! I do adore the 2001 Le Meynieu you poured for me last week but this may be better – it is better! "1 person found this helpful 1,137 views
