Community Tasting Note

  • Matt Scott Likes this wine: 96 points

August 21, 2016 - Decanted for three hours. In the same vein as the '05, this is polished and well-layered, yet only revealing so much. Blackberry, black tea, graphite, flower shop and dried mulch. Long in the back end and the polished tannins hold this within a complete frame. This is reminiscent of something by Edward Hopper. Drink 2021-.

5/15/17, 6:56 PM - Edward, Seriously? Drink by 2021? You can drink this 2010 wine for the next 20+ years, easy. I have several bottles of the 1994 that still has another 5 - 10 very good years on it. Here's a Cellar Tracker 2017 comment on the '94 just a week ago. "5/8/2017 - DUGYDOG LIKES THIS WINE: 91 Points Drinking way younger than it's age"

5/16/17, 7:36 AM - Hmmmm... "Drink 2021 -." means that it would be best to hold off until then. If I wrote "now - 2021", then that would be different. So, in essence, it will outlast many. And, yes, Edward Hopper in a sense of that still moment that can impose, have angles and still enchant.
