September 15, 2016 - My last bottle of this wine, somewhat bittersweet having followed this from fermentation all the way till last night, this was a solid wine, an honest wine from a humble family that makes the wine in the vineyards, to be sure. Some have said they're too modern, some have said they're too rustic. I find them to be neither - the cantina is as traditional as it gets and Marco has no goal other than to make the wine that the vines/nature has given him, so traditional fermentation, etc. Tonight's bottle offered a touch of balsamic drizzled on a bed of cherries and roses. Shows the vintage's warmth through it's lack of freshness, but it's still well lifted, enough for the next few years in the cellar anyway. All of the CB wines are great values. 14,0% abv., thru 2019. recommended

Slow-O 1 hour, served non-blind. With various pizzas, this really zoomed in on the red onion, ham, pineapple one for whatever reason.
