November 21, 2016 - This was the best from my tastings, but still just ok -- for the price. It is a nice dark big boy, but not for the price. I don't know what happened at Larkmead, except they jacked the price up 30-50% and reduced the quality of the wine.

11/21/16, 2:05 PM - Hi Winelover, Aside from the price hikes (which I also complain about), what did they taste like? I have all if them from my recent allotment, but I probably won't touch them for a while. Thanks.

    11/21/16, 3:50 PM - Hi Alsatl,

I did rate it 93 points. It was good, it is not ready -- do don't get tempted to try a bottle at that price! Very dark, primary right now, the wines were in decanters but I don't know for how long. However long, they needed more time. Dark rich fruits, strong tannins, chocolate overtones. I liked the Solari the best, followed by The Lark, the "regular" cab, and then the Olmo. Hope this helps.

11/21/16, 3:53 PM - Thanks! Given the price hikes you already referenced, I'm debating which wine clubs to shift to. Probably something from Mike Smith. Cheers.

11/22/16, 2:14 AM - To the best of my knowledge, Mike doesn't offer wine clubs. That said, I would highly recommend getting on some of his lists, including: Myriad, Quivet and Carter. Good luck!
