November 29, 2016 - This bottle is flawed in a way that is hard to describe. It is not corked. It is not overly bretted. It is a little oxidized, but that is not it's only problem. It also seems to be cooked. All of my bottles that I tried since 2012 have been similar. The cork looked perfect and there was no leakage. I bought these from The Chicago Wine Company in 2006 and they have been stored in a 57 degree cellar since. In the same shipment from TCWC I also bought 3 other 2001 Brunellows, and every one of those is excellent. Perhaps something happened to these bottles before they were shipped from Europe to Chicago. I have one bottle left and am open to ideas on what to do to try to figure out what happened to these.

11/30/16, 8:35 PM - I had a similar experience last summer. I haven't opened any bottles since then.

12/1/16, 12:23 PM - I had 5 of these bottles left a month ago. I have to drink from the "ready to drink" report to best manage my cellar and these are supposed to be ok through 2021. I read a comment from another user that said their bottles were going...so I opened one up. Terrible. Cooked is probably the best description. I've opened two more since - one was also flawed and the other was just on the edge. I drank it. I have two left and will either drink or toss between now and Christmas. No reason to hold them.
