December 7, 2016 - Our friend "insisted" on bringing this to Pierre Gagnaire's Hong Kong restaurant last night...how could we say no!? Neither could Pierre as he joined us for a small sip!

Still barely legal yet luscious and showing subtle hints of toasted brioche, caramel and that ever so desired yeasty nose. Give her another 5 years, and you will be proposing marriage!

    12/30/16, 4:16 AM - Hmmmm-when I was 40 years younger I know what I would have done with a little bit of the champagne😀.

    12/31/16, 9:50 AM - Greetings BuzzzzOff,
Since my funds are somewhat limited I was thinking of buying two RD 2002 Bollinger and two Krug 2002. I love dough and some yeast. Should I buy less of one or the other. Seems everyone likes the Krug better. (All Krug???) I can afford to buy one RD now and taste it just for the fun of it.

    Dave

12/31/16, 7:37 PM - From our perspective, Krug is Krug...a lot of star power in the price tag. We prefer the Bollinger, but we equally enjoy mixing up things so we probably would go for both. If you can find Jacques Selosse, we would tip our hat that way!

1/1/17, 6:15 PM - Jacques Selosse rocks...you will not be disappointed. Pierre Peters also impressive. Salon, of course, always a winner!

    1/3/17, 3:06 AM - Hi BuzzzzOf.
Which Pierre Peters are you talking about -as they have many editions? I think I had this before but not sure which one. Dave

1/3/17, 4:56 AM - We recently tried NV Pierre Péters Champagne Blanc de Blancs Perle du Mesnil and NV Pierre Péters Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut Cuvée de Réserve. Great value and both tres yummy!

  • vintage1949 commented:

1/3/17, 5:08 AM - Shall give them a try. Dave

1/3/17, 11:39 PM - 100% Chardonnay, of course, so very different to the blends. Having said that, a good Chardonnay with some bubbles served in a white Burgundy glass is, well, heaven!

    1/4/17, 2:27 AM - I fully agree😀.

1/4/17, 7:51 PM - We believe the alphabet and humankind would be best served if "C" was the first letter ;-)

  • vintage1949 commented:

1/5/17, 1:49 AM - Interesting comment. Yes that would eliminate the harsh name calling. Or the alphabet should star with W. grin

  • BuzzzzOff commented:

1/5/17, 5:47 PM - We would happily accede to your suggestion of starting with "W" ;-)

    1/6/17, 6:10 AM - Hi BuzzzzOff,
    Either way smart move.

  • BuzzzzOff commented:

1/6/17, 7:44 PM - Quite! Yesterday at Joey's Place (Robuchon), we had the following:

NV Maurice Vesselle, Grand Cru, Brut, Cuvee Reserve

2009 Puligny-Montrachet, Les Perrieres, Henri Boillot

2009 Puligny-Montrachet, Les Combettes, Jacques Prieur

2010 Puligny-Montrachet, Les Folatieres, Etienne Sauzet

    The Cs rued the day!!!
