December 9, 2016 - It's a shame they have stopped making that wine as aging worthy... It does state on the bottle now that it is for immediate consumption.
Kind of snow peas with a dash of lime and light yellow fruits.
A interesting and lower alcohol (10%) option, great value.
A must if you are over passion fruit ;)

    12/22/16, 7:09 AM - Hi NoDivision.
I found the review, it somehow seems to be wrong as the wine is quoted to be $24 and from the Lovedale vineyard (it's not a single vineyard and the wine is worth $14 full price)???
I can remember my 1st wine love to be Philip at the time when they were still releasing those 2 wines with a bit of age, what a shame...

12/23/16, 2:50 AM - I was at the vineyard 2 months ago and I do remember thinking that some of the prices of wines were massive rip offs considering they were so much cheaper at Dan Murphy's - and specifically the elizabeth semillon. The elizabeth at Dans has always been around the $13 - 14 Mark and a lot more at the vineyard. I just took a look at the Dan murphys website though and the elizabeth is all of a sudden $25 a bottle so call me confused as hell. I actually had a 2016 at lunch today and thought it was a lot better than the 2015. 15 & 16 vintages were tough going in the hunter valley, but i have had some really amazing 16 semillons, particularly the margan and the tyrrells.

12/23/16, 5:46 AM - I hear you, I work in a liquor store and it was $14 a pop. Bargain, I got a bottle left. Semillons are so unfashionable now. I think they have shoot themselves in the foot buy choosing to change the style. It was one of the great Australian traditional wines.

9/7/17, 5:35 AM - You guys sure you're not talking about the mount Pleasant Blue Label semillon, which is not the Elizabeth but rather their cheaper bottling? They still make the premium Elizabeth which is a great drop and still collaring well

9/7/17, 9:16 AM - It's definitely the Elizabeth, I was disappointed to read the back label.

9/10/17, 5:28 PM - Yeah I just checked at Dan Murphys - bottling has changed from the last Elizabeth bottlings I bought which definitely say on the back to cellar. new bottlings say designed to be enjoyed now :'(

9/10/17, 9:13 PM - They are just shooting themselves in the foot. These wines are boring when young, shame.

9/11/17, 4:30 AM - They dont offer it for tasting at the Cellar Door anymore. They sell the 8 Acres Semillon as their entry level wine there. They told me its because the Elizabeth is so wildly available at retail now. The 8 Acres is a very different style and quite nice.
