December 30, 2016 - An easy afternoon with close friends (@ PdV): Garnet red with a brown rim. In the bouquet earth, mushrooms, autumn forest floor and later also tar appeared. On the palate earth and mushrooms as well, chocolate, a firm amount of acidity, some bell pepper and anise, coffee and some soy. In the beginning the acidity was a bit overwhelming, but a bit later the wine became more interesting and complex. Overall; an interesting wine which definitely has performed better some years ago, but is still drinkable. I do not score it this evening.

1/1/17, 1:23 AM - Thanks for your note. Interesting...we like the idea of chocolate, bell pepper, soy and coffee...outstanding blend!
