January 1, 2017 - I had the pleasure of drinking a whole bottle of this by myself yesterday. Let me set this up properly before we get to the point. I got hooked on bordeaux for totally different reasons than what this wine delivers. There is nothing nuanced about this wine. There is nothing delicate, nothing elegant, nothing aristocratic...Its all about sheer power and brutal density. Its packed with gobs and gobs of sweet, lush black fruit, from an oak tree! But under all that California demeanor, there lies the unmistakable bordeaux earth, intertwined with chocolate and big violets! The front of the palate is so Bordeaux with violets, the middle is mouth coating scorched earth, and the finish is so, so oaky long. This is just drinking, and its drinking at full throttle. Somewhat of a raging slut that needs about 20 years more to grow up into a classy lady...Drink or Hold

7/3/17, 2:18 PM - Thx. I totally get your descriptions knowing this wine and other Bordeaux. I was reading deciding whether to drink sooner or later...so I will pull depending on what I'm looking for that night. Thx again.
