February 2, 2017 - #alternativepairings (Chicago, IL): Usseglio is charging over $200 for this wine! There is so much oak on this! Paying tremendous cost for blueberry milkshake, when so much cheaper at Mcdonalds. Need to renegotiate the price!

2/3/17, 12:22 AM - Sorry, but I do not buy into this nonsense.
You have always had a biased palate and your tirades are tiresome.

  • Seth Rosenberg commented:

2/3/17, 12:26 PM - Rob's got an unbiased palate: CdP, BDX, Burg, water, acetone all taste equally good to him!

4/1/17, 11:19 PM - Unless there was a bad bottle, only an utter fool and an imbecile would diss this magnificent wine. ACYSO is obviously both, and an arrogant snot enamored of his own opinions. Should be thrown off of CT.

  • Seth Rosenberg commented:

4/2/17, 5:15 PM - Yes!!! I totally agree! Anyone who doesn't agree with me and my palate should be insulted soundly and banned so I don't have to have my feelings hurt by their differing opinion.

5/1/17, 4:42 PM - Your logic is flawed. If you do not like cheese on your hamburger, is it a bad hamburger/cheeseburger....and you will give it 60 points? If it is not your style, it is not a bad wine.

  • Seth Rosenberg commented:

5/1/17, 5:53 PM - You seem to be confused. His rating is HIS rating, not a consensus rating and not a universal rating. ACYSO is a thoughtful, analytical and yes, opinionated wine rater. There are many who argue, he and myself included, that the style of wine presented here leads to poor and low-quality wines. People like different styles, this is true, but the two statements are not contradictory. Let's take top-40 pop music and Classical Music as two styles. Clearly, the former is much more popular and is listened to and liked by many more people than Classical, but I'd argue that the top-40 style, in itself, leads to very shallow and simplistic songs. Every once in a while, there's a gem, but mostly it's crap.

  • Seth Rosenberg commented:

5/1/17, 5:58 PM - Also, I hate to tell you, but your original comment was sent out as an alert so everyone on the thread can see what it was before you changed it:

"Average score of 98 on CT and after tasting the wine you give it a 60. You are probably right and everyone else is wrong, including RP, ST, and WS? You most likely had a bad bottled that could have been corked."

This is very telling - you try to argue using popularity and numbers, as almost all defenders of these types of wines do, instead of arguing on the merits of the wine and analysis itself. It's laughable how people's egos are so tied up with these types of wines that the can't tolerate dissent.

5/1/17, 6:10 PM - Seth Rosenberg, why don't you PLEASE get some kind of life and stop obsessing on this wine and its aficionados? You've already been chastised by the moderator over your previous games, please just knock it off once and for all. You're an attorney by trade, so you think arguing for the sake of argument is some kind of automatic behavior.
But to normal people in more-respected fields it's simply annoying and tedious. Your comment about Top 40 music just reveals you as some kind of highly-opinionated and last-century ignoramus along the lines of David Tang who writes for the Financial Times, and you display similar arrogant disdain for anything that doesn't have snob appeal. I can guarantee you that you've missed an incredible amount of high art that has graced the lowly roster that you've maligned as Top 40.

Best.wine's comment is perfectly valid and on-point, and echoes my earlier ones. Your endless argument against that very obvious point he makes just reveals you as someone I'd really not want to bother meeting with in person or having any kind of conversation with. Your mind is made up and you don't want to be confused with the facts, nor do you want to abandon any opportunity to insist that you are right and most everybody else is just plain stupid next to Mr. Wonderful You.

Again, get a life and spare those of us who like this wine any more of your priceless opinions about it. Honest to God, have you nothing better to do?

  • Seth Rosenberg commented:

5/1/17, 6:25 PM - Your comment might have more sting if it wasn't for the fact that you and this other commenter took the time to come to this note and insult the OP and me. I don't spend my time going to reviews that I disagree with to argue or insult people, or to call for them to be banned. It's pathetic - the folks who do it are so insecure about something that they feel the need to attack or silence those who disagree. Why don't you do something better with your time? I like AYSCO and his notes and his views on wine, and so I'm happy to spend some time debating those who attack him. What's your excuse???

  • Seth Rosenberg commented:

5/1/17, 6:27 PM - WAAAAHHHHH!!! Someone hates a wine I like so I need to run and tell MOMMY!!!!

  • pacificoast commented:

5/1/17, 6:30 PM - Seth, I repeat, kindly get a life and leave those of us who like this wine, and its style, alone. And grow up. I won't respond any further, I have better things to do than babysit someone who desperately needs to grow up and have it dawn on him that he himself is guilty of the very shortcomings he relentlessly attacks others for.

  • Seth Rosenberg commented:

5/1/17, 6:34 PM - The thread is pretty clear - you came here to insult and attack because someone disagreed with you about a wine that you liked. It's that simple - as you continued to double down and insult and attack me as well, I decided to give you some of your own medicine back. Not very pleasant is it? Now go away and just associate with people who agree with you - I'm sure you will be much happier.
