February 10, 2017 - Darkish ruby with a savory nose of Himalayan blackberries. Tart red berry, bright fruit with some light cane tannins. Medium fruit and body and starting to come together and on the young side. I opened several nights ago and It was pretty primary so I set it aside. Last night three it turned the corner with the edges softening, the fruit showing red currants and sour cherries, earth, leather with a bit of balsam forest notes. Much more complex than the base '14 WV Pinots that I find are drinking well now. With the acid and tannins present, I'm looking forward to the development over the years.
