    February 14, 2017 - Dark ruby (but not super dark or with any orange tinging at the edges that I can see). Fresh dill on the nose. A lot more dill and vanilla in the taste. I think Rioja Alta's policy is that there can never be enough American oak. Ever. The mouthfeel is very smooth, somehow. For an oak bomb, it somehow feels... light bodied? Maybe all this dill is just making me crazy.
    EDIT: About an hour or two after opening, I noticed that the wine gained quite a bit of complexity, with dark berry/fruit notes. I recommend keeping it open for a little while.

    2/18/17, 7:08 AM - Thanks for the review. I like a touch of American oak, but only a bit. Your comment about this being an oak bomb convinced me to stay away.

    2/19/17, 8:25 PM - I'm about the edit the review, actually! I wrote the review after opening the bottle; but an hour or two after opening, the wine does get more complex, with some interesting berry notes and whatnot. So, my recommendation is to wait for a little while.
