Community Tasting Note

February 15, 2017 - Really disappointing from one of my, usually, favorite producers???! Did they sell out to the maker of Meiomi PN? This is a mess and bares no resemblance to the usually; supple, ethereal, feather weight red fruited style of all the other vintages I've been drinking every year since 2005??? Its up 1% in Alc on the label from last year's 12.5% to 13.5% but taste and smells more like a 15.5% CDP. Darker color than usual, starts out with a pleasant enough juicy grapy nose but turns Alc nose quickly. Blackberry jam, plum and hint of rasin on the ponderous weighty palate. Turns a little savory later but still, nearly undrinkable, for me. Think Ill be skipping a vintage for the first time with Dupeuble. Glad I didn't buy more. Not flawed. Oddly, seems like a "great" vintage didn't work out "great" here. At least not for my palate. Meiomi and Belle Glos drinkers will love this :). Need to see if any more 2014 around.

9/27/17, 6:32 PM - I was just thinking of buying some bottles, as this house staple had somehow eluded me for the 2015 vintage, but your note has (sadly) given me pause. Thanks for the candid, if disappointing, take.

9/27/17, 10:42 PM - Its been almost 8 months since I tasted it. Its not easily found in my area or I'd have likely tried it again. Kermit Lynch has poor distribution in the Twin Cities. I'd buy one and decide after that on whether to stock up or not.
