February 20, 2017 - Holy Chinon. After decanting for sediment, this was drunk over a 2.5 hour period.
Nose: Full of fire roasted tomatoes, wet tobacco, ash, wet twigs, soggy mushrooms, and a forest after a day of rain, with a faint spice at the end.
Palate: Very savory at first with bell pepper, green herbs, more tobacco that later opened up wonderfully into wild brambly strawberries with a long smooth finish.
Fully mature and no tannins to speak of, but the wine still has the fresh fruit to last at least 5 more years if well stored. Amazing.1 person found this helpful 2,280 views
