March 4, 2017 - Glass: Riedel Vinum Riesling & Schott Zwiesel Burgundy
    Drunk over two days.
Clear, youthful pale lemon-golden color. Clean, medium intense, youthful-developing nose. Very lean, precise, fresh and elegant with aromas of lemon fruits, associations of “dark” slate came into my mind, gooseberry, nettles, and herbs. Very nice.
This wine is “dryish“, somewhere between off-dry and dry. Unexpectedly medium+, well integrated acidity, medium- alcohol (11,5% abv). This wine needs your full attention! Simply swallowed it is just a mediocre-good Riesling. It is not loud or driven by its fruit, but its minerality and phenolic components. Given it time on the palate, swirling it, than it reveals its real beauty. Very precise, lean, perfectly structured, shy, but with enormous tension and pressure on the palate. Juicy grapefruit, herbs, wet stones. Complex and quite long and lingering finish. Certainly just a teen and I am really looking forward to taste it again in a few years. Has a long life ahead.
