April 7, 2017 - Now we're talking, oh my. I remain content that proper 85s are my favorite vintage (90 nipping at heels), and this Lynch solidified my feeling. The nose, just wow! Black tea, wet forest floor, plum, cassis, old tobacco, deep earth, and fine pencil. A nose that you do not soon forget. The palate sealed the deal and is still displaying a richness that is to be cherished. Tannins are completely sorted and this is pure velvet. A very complex wine, this is at peak and I would recommend drinking up over the next 10 years. Bravo 96 Pts
Very generous Boston friends (one in particular) poured me a glass of 02 Clos Rougeard Le Bourg a few weeks ago. One of the most remarkable wines that I have ever tasted, with a mind blowing nose. While not the same, this 85 Lynch nose was not too far behind.1 person found this helpful 4,919 views
