April 8, 2017 - Always a treat to try Hune, given that I refuse to buy it on grounds of the prohibitive pricing (and Alzinger/Nikolaihof filling all my dry Riesling needs these days). This is very good, but like so many Trimbachs it just doesn't live up to the hype/price point. There's an array of bright citrus and white fruit here, showing the ripeness/slight fatness I expect from '99, but there's also plenty of stony minerality beneath and good acidity. I like this a lot and it's nice to drink when someone else is happy to share a bottle (thanks Eric!), but I'm still not convinced I should be getting this in lieu of Steinertal or Steiner Hund.
