  February 24, 2008 - One of 16 wines tasted at our Joseph Swan & Holdredge OL at La Vista. This wine was just released with JS's spring newsletter. We decanted over the course of the evening. I was lucky to have the ’05 Trenton Estate close by me on the table, but the Great Oak decanter sailed by and landed at the far end of the table, never to return. The quick impression I had of it was that it was deeper and darker in flavor profile than the Trenton Estate. Rod's newsletter describes this as “black raspberry, black cherry, dark plum and licorice and maybe even a little hint of cassis”. I will need to give this one another try.
