April 25, 2017 - Loads of bright red fruit notes on the nose--cherry, cranberry, strawberry--supported by a continuo of earthy, autumnal underbrush. On the palate, the fruit comes to take on darker overtones, leaving a lingering impression of a well-built, harmonious wine. Exquisitely structured with plenty of acid and tannin for the long haul. Perhaps the best wine ever from Il Poggione. Drink 2022 - 2037.
