May 13, 2017 - This is, to me, not nearly as interesting as the 2007 Peters I drank recently. This has rich, ripe California pinot fruit....and, that is kind of the problem. It is very rich and ripe, with fairly hefty alcohol and just doesn't have nearly the complexity or elegance of the Peters, which is much more Burgundian. Don't get me wrong - I like this fine. It is a really nice Cali pinot, but a bit to ripe and over-the-top to be excellent, for my palate, and not what I want when I want a pinot. Too heavy. Fans of Martinelli and Marcassin pinots will find a lot to like here. By the way - not at all over-the-hill; this is still very fresh, at least from my cellar.

5/13/17, 6:00 PM - I consistently found that the alcohol stuck out in these pinots. Surprising to me since I expected wines along the lines of classic Willams Selyem or Sanford or ABC. I quickly stopped buying them.

5/13/17, 10:00 PM - The 2007 Peters I had a week or 2 ago was pure elegance and class, with none of the heaviness of this wine. I have to say it has smoothed out a little after several hours, but still not nearly as interesting as the Peters. Unfortunately, only had one btl of the Peters. I seem to recall we bought these together.
