  May 19, 2017 - Color: medium-deep ruby core -> reasonably deep ruby rim. Really nice nose on PnP of coffee, violets, cassis and a little pencil lead; classic Bordeaux nose if not quite as intense as higher class wines. Soft, well balanced palate showing black cherries, plums, blackberries and some leather. This has developed quite nicely over the last 17 years; still good acidity, a reasonable level of alcohol and a touch of tannin on a medium-to medium-short-length finish. Purchased for $20 (or slightly less?) on release, this totally delivers. At peak now and feels like it will certainly hold for at least 2-3 more years.
