  July 8, 2017 - From magnum at Dallas Wineauxs get together. Although my tastes have gravitated away from this style of wine, I can still appreciate an Alban blockbuster, which this is. Soaring nose of sweet blue and black fruits as it was poured into the decanter. Roasted meats, bacon fat, crushed blueberries and blueberry compote on the nose. Massive in scale but somehow light on its feet, a signature Alban trait. 15% ABV is well hidden. After an hour decant was strutting its stuff. Maybe not a "food wine" but who cares? Unapologetically and unabashedly Californian. I like these wines relatively young, and this one is a baby especially in large format. No apparent signs of age. An easy 95. Definite crowd pleaser.
