5/12/19, 6:42 AM - Who in their right minds serves decent champagne "almost frozen"? Of course there's nothing to it - your mouth is numbed by the temperature!

5/12/19, 7:16 AM - I see ... Who can not understand that in Madrid first days of 2017 August were 40 Celsius? So even if you served an "almost frozen" champagne possibly you're tasting a glass warmer what standards are recommending in winter time. Hong Kong, cool. I've been several times there and many people are drinking cognac at the bar terraces :-)
Honestly speaking we have talibans enough, for long-distance temperature measurement even.
This particular champagne is what it is, simplistic and ordinary. Of course, IMHO. No worries.

5/12/19, 7:28 AM - Global warming notwithstanding, Madrid in the summer of (I think) 1998 is the hottest place I have ever been. But it's dry, so 40 degrees in Madrid is less uncomfortable than, say, 35 degrees in HK with 90% humidity.

In any case, tasting champagne served at almost freezing temperatures in an environment where the ambient temperature is 40 degrees is far from ideal. Haven't things called "air conditioners" made it to Madrid yet? If not you could make a fortune by importing them! :-)

Served at about 12 degrees in an ambient temperature of about 22 degrees I find this champagne rather nice, albeit not the greatest QPR.

5/12/19, 12:19 PM - And now from Hong Kong, Paul with the global weather.
Funny but don't even try to teach me about the place I was born long ago.
I know you're from Albion so by definition you can't be modest but at the same don't show me how we have to serve champagne in August in Madrid and please continue drinking PX wine with ice cream.
A/C? Try to buy an abanico via Manila ...
