  September 13, 2017 - Deep purple in color with long slow legs. Nose jumped out of the glass with deep cedar and leather. Definite secondary scents with the fruit showing behind. On the palate the first sip was quite sharp and tart. No quite aligned with the expectation set by the aroma. But after the second or third sip, the tartness faded and the deep black fruits came through. Very pleasing throughout the mouth. And the finish was equal to the task. Long and deep. All in all a very solid wine that possesses a lot of old world soul, without loosing it's California essence.
