September 21, 2017 - Starting to show its maturity but rather reticent on the palate. It seems to be in a dumb stage where it's very good showing secondary traits but in a very subtle style. Very unlike any other Monty Estate I've had.

9/21/17, 6:27 PM - How long did you let it breathe? I always decant Monty Estate Cab and let sit for 4-5 hours...it makes a huge difference. Especially in 2001. Do realize however there have been some issues with the 2001 vintage with some people getting some bottle/cork taint. I have not seen it in the bottles I have drunk so far, but some have had the problem. Good Luck!

    Cheers!

9/22/17, 4:07 AM - You could be right with the extended decant. I recanted this for 1 hour prior to trying but consumed it over 3 to 4 hours following. No taint at all, which I was fearful of when opening, and was otherwise a sound bottle.
