  November 24, 2017 - This wine always surprises. The second wine of Mas Doix from families who have been making wine in Priorat since the mid-1800's; this is always a treat. 2003 is right on point showing a nose of black cherry and dark berries with a funny hint of tobacco all sitting comfortably in the glass with a medium ruby/very slight bricking - it is definitely lighter in color and far better integrated than my last tasting. This is a fully mature Priorat; i do not think it will get better - only slowly fade away the fruit over the next 5 years. If you have it, drink it now. It is still a wonderfully expressive, nicely integrated Garnacha/Carinena blend beautifully expressing old-vine black cherry/blackberry flavors that linger.
