December 24, 2017 - Very interesting wine. PnP about 2 ounces to get a quick taste. Mild bouquet, very acidic with strong, tart cherry dominating the notes. Set aside the bottle and left uncorked for 5 hours to do some last minute Christmas shopping. Came back and poured a full glass and was rewarded for my Christmas spirit. The Actaeon evolved into a much more complex wine, softening, balanced with a hint of sweet plum. Very long finish. Almost a completely different wine, which leads me to believe that the Actaeon needs to be left in the cellar a few more years... or at the very least a several hour decanting.

12/24/17, 5:41 PM - Great note. I was wondering where this wine was going to go. Pott wines usually need time, but based on the abysmal 87 points this got on WA recently, I figured it was going to need even more time in bottle. I'll forget about these for a while. Thanks again. VERY helpful.

12/24/17, 8:10 PM - Must not have been RP doing the rating at WA. I bought only 2 bottles and gave 1 as a gift, so I’m out of luck as far as trying my next bottle in a few years. You’re wise to lay your Actaeon down for quite a while.
