  February 2, 2018 - Birthday Dinner at The Ranch Steakhouse (Anaheim, CA): This was a last minute pull that was taken to dinner PnP with a 2010 Harlan and 2012 Shafer HSS that each had 7 hours of decanting. Rough setup, but wow, this really surprised me and everyone at the dinner table. Initially a bit tight, but it opened up into something great that was able to stay with the others. It leads with tremendously pure and gorgeous fruit, but it's no fruit bomb. The frame and structure are all solidly in tact, which was a bit of a surprise to me. Many great layers of flavor here, with a very long and persistent finish. Excellent stuff. 96+
