April 30, 2018 - Decanted 2 hours and could have used at least double that. Translucent garnet/brown. Nose with cherry, pine, floral notes, black pepper, flint/brass and touch of background oak/vanilla. Palate with fresh, medium weight fruit, zippy acidity and hard-edged tannins. Good persistence and finishing with some mineral. With pork chop and gnocchi the tannins receded considerably and accented the cherry flavors, enhancing both the wine and the food. Charming wine that’s built for the table.
