May 5, 2018 - Hommage a DryCab - Washington Wines release; 5/3/2018-5/5/2018 (Various spots in Walla Walla): Very interesting. This morning we'd had the Delmas which was much more in the minerals and floral world. Same vineyard, same grapes, but here you get the brine and olives and salinity. Slate. What I expect from the rocks vineyard and well done.

5/8/18, 11:52 AM - Hi mc, a couple of differences. 2016 here vs 2015 for the Delmas (though those vintages were pretty similar I think). The bigger difference I think is the co-ferment. Delmas has 10% Viognier if I remember correctly and this is labeled 100% Syrah. Florals on the Delmas could be Viognier driven. Excellent notes!

5/8/18, 1:58 PM - I'm sure there's a piece on the co-ferment. I also got a feeling there was a style choice. He noted his dislike of the word 'funk' and that they were aiming for something a bit more elegant (which of course the Viognier helps). Both good wines. Just interesting to see some of the differences.
