May 19, 2018 - TRB wines (SF): Lemon liqueur, yellow pear, glycol, and lamp oil. Some faint lemon verbena and grass on the back end, but mostly hits of lemon and alcohol. A furry/pithy aftertaste made for an abrupt finish. Even with the good QPR, this wine isn't the friendliest or most quaffable of Chardonnays. It's ok, but pretty wonky overall. Previous vintages of this wine have performed much better. Hold for another year...I guess...

5/25/18, 3:46 PM - Hi RobbieC. Thanks for the comment. Ya I’m not sure what exactly is going on with this vintage of the RM Sonoma Chard. This is the second bottle I’ve had that has been way below average, even when considering the otherwise good price-point. Maybe bottle variation. Maybe the vineyard pulls TRB did in 2016 were different and from “declassified,” sub-par lots. Not sure. A bummer to say the least.

6/9/18, 10:09 PM - Hey air guitar! I don't know how on-target my insight is, but I certainly felt as though something was a little goofy with this wine. Disturbingly, I just had the 2015 version of this as well and it was also wonky. The latest vintages of the RM Sonoma Coast Chards are a bit perplexing to me. I'll hold remaining bottle I suppose in hopes something might improve... not super stoked on these right now...
