June 17, 2018 - My second bottle of this slightly idiosyncratic Pinot from the Moselle . Initially all you get is that earthy mushroom quality this wine needs a good aeration , possibly even a decant to dissipate this aroma and allow it to show its Pinot characteristics - Kirsch/cherries, Parma violets, strawberries, and herbs. Still with plenty of acidity , it has a heavy slightly syrupy mouth feel . Serve slightly chilled to sharpen up the fresh flavours of sour cranberries, and vanilla and cherry. This a reticent wine that will benefit from a good decant and judicious chilling. Serve only to your wine-curious guests!
