  June 16, 2018 - Purple, almost inky, with well-defined rim variation and a few bubbles. Medium to a bit slower legs. Aromas key on red fruit and spice: raspberry, strawberry, cherry, plum, orange peel, cinnamon, clove. Hints of dust, forest floor, medium toast, oak, sandalwood, violet, eucalyptus, mint and cocoa. And, on final day of tasting, definite mushroom aroma. Flavors were similar but spice continued to dominate with fruit showing more cherry as well as distinct bitterness and tannins. Medium/full body with linear texture. Medium finish, medium plus acidity. Overall impression: complex, intense wine which has aged very well. Fading was minimal over 4 days. At $24, QPR is average. Will definitely seek out future vintages. Drink now.
