July 16, 2018 - 3rd of 12, opened 45 minutes, perfect cork and level, although hint of brown on rim, just starting to drink well with secondaries beginning to develop, youthful on nose and palate, harmonious, complex and graceful if lacking the concentration and drive of the very best vintages, getting there on the pleasure factor (the element missing in first 2 bottles, last noted in 2016), should improve and settle over next 10 years and then hold for many years, ie scope to improve. F+ (18)…...NB(I) not sure where idea that the 01s are a weak vintage as in my experience where not over extracted, there is a lovely balance and freshness to the fruit boding well for longevity, and (ii) can only imagine that those thinking this wine is at or near its peak are drinking from tainted or badly stored bottles as the evidence of my first 3 bottles is showing normal progression.

10/23/18, 2:43 PM - So what is the drinking window your are currently assuming?
