August 13, 2018 - Wine is so subjective and relative to your mood, and accompanying wines. This one, again and again, shows to be a classic Bordeaux, well rooted by its graceful and glacial aging due to high acidity and awesome tannin content. It seems to be in the window of phase 2, and I cant wait till it puts both feet into the door. I still believe that this is a great Lagrange, and while I have always hoped that it could mirror 1990 with time, its clear that this is mostly likely another 1996 in the making, with more elegance. The 1996 is still very well alive, so I think this will hit peak in 3 to 5 years. drink with 2 to 3 hour decant or wait a while more.

8/13/18, 4:49 PM - I had a bottle of this recently with two other 2000's. Your comments are spot on, as properly cellared bottles will peak in 3 to 5 years. Also, it took a touch over 2 hours for this to open up in a decanter with plenty of room to breathe and swirl.
