  September 29, 2018 - Not decanted, opened ~2 hours before consuming a half-glass at room temp with some well-seasoned sliders. This showed better for me than the previous two I opened, both in 2016. Still big and mouth-filling, dark fruit-driven with a hint of peppery spice, low-acid, and showing some alcohol on the finish (but less so than the last bottle).
  
  The first of two syrahs towards the end of a small line-up of Rhones from around the world (and the only US representative), this definitely had its own character, but I have to say that it slotted into the line-up better than I expected. One more in storage.
