Community Tasting Note

October 1, 2018 - Deep purplish red colour. Powerful nose with ripe dark berries (blackberries, dark cherries), some cooked fruit/fruitcake, salt liquorice, some vanilla, some slate and powdered stone, hints of animal notes and hints of other developed notes. Palate with a good concentration of dark berries, smooth and well integrated tannins (but in a sense there's a lot of them), some alcoholic feeling towards the end, and a long aftertaste with dark berries and alcohol. Overall a well polished wine that drinks well now, will keep, 92 pts.

If the alcohol (the label says 14.5%) had been better integrated this wine would have merited a higher score (94?) because the fruit and the tannins are really beautiful.
