October 17, 2018 - Deep Purple. Feels and looks young and vibrant. Perfumed dark fruit on the nose with twists of leather. Strong at first and fades a bit. Palate develops the dark fruit with toasted blackberry, leather, hints of licorice and spice. This is a full bodied wine with firm acidity and forward tannins that soften on the palate. It is nicely balanced and has a nice long finish. This one has some legs to age a bit but drinks great now as well. I can see this getting better with some more years in the bottle.

Just saw my last tasting note from a month ago. I am right to say sit on this. I had to make room and I have a couple more so I drank again early but clearly this bottle faired better. One note thought I forgot to mention. I openned this yesterday so my score is based on day two. As with the prior note, lots of aeration really helps this wine. It needs to unpack and open up.
