Community Tasting Note

  • Outplaying Likes this wine:

October 21, 2018 - Popped and poured with a pot roast. I'm digging this wine. On the nose, red fruits, red licorice, floral notes. Smells very nice. All of that carries over on the palate. I believe this is grown in limestone, and that shows with hints of minerality and a fresh, bright character. There is some fine tannin and a lot of acidity. Too much for Ann, actually. With air this puts on weight and gains some darker tones. Delicious.

This is still young, and I probably wouldn't have opened it at this stage, but we will be visiting next week, and I wanted to drink one for context. I'll probably open the next bottle in about 5+ years.

10/21/18, 5:03 PM - After a couple hours, the structure and tannin starts to dominate this wine. Probably needs more than 5 years. Lots of substance here.
