November 1, 2018 - I haven't been drinking enough Cabot. This wine was tough sledding in its youth, but now it is smoky and sultry with blackberry and bacon while still showing the red fruit and acid of its youth. It could still use some more time to unwind even a little more, but I suspect it is close to apogee. It features more and acid and a little less stuffing than some other vintages.

11/2/18, 8:23 AM - I have one left from a case on your rec many years ago. One of the few CA wines I regularly buy, almost Oregon anyway. I usually send a bottle up north to friends when visiting.

11/2/18, 8:25 AM - I just love their wines. Since we used their Pinot and the 2008 Syrah as "house wines" in Switzerland, I got to drink a LOT of Cabot. So I realized that once we returned to Seattle I was not reaching for my personal Cabot collection anywhere near as often. They definitely reward some aging.
