    September 24, 2017 - Very Good.

Clear, deep, ruby with narrow ruby rim.
Clean, medium (+), developing nose of blackberry, cedar, popcorn, tar and vanilla.
Dry, medium acid (?), medium tannin, medium (+) alcohol, medium (+) body, medium (+) intensity flavours of blackberry, damson, vanilla and tar. Long length.

Very good, this is a ripe Barossa style shiraz, tannins very well managed and overall surprisingly developed already. Can drink now, and will hold for another 5 + years, but will it improve?

Penfolds has certainly brought forward the drinking window on its Bin series over the last decade, lucky given the complete switch to screwcap, otherwise these wines may never have been ready...
